To inspire and foster more diversity within our industry, every year, TFWB has proudly supported an African American student through the minority college scholarship program of the Jackie Robinson Foundation.
The Foundation, headquartered in New York City, has continued Robinson’s legacy of fighting for equal opportunities by addressing the achievement gap in higher education. Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded four-year scholarships and provided scholars with career discernment strategies, job placement, mentorships, leadership opportunities, and practical life skills training. As a result, the average college graduation rate of students who go through the program is 100%!
This year’s JRF/TFWB Engineers Scholarship recipient is Caroline Jenkins! She will major in Political Science and Government at the University of Washington. Caroline has demonstrated academic excellence, leadership potential, and dedication to community service. She will attend the JRF’s annual four-day “Mentoring and Leadership Conference” in New York City and other regional events.
