Our areas of expertise include architecture-enhancing lighting design and advanced lighting controls; communication systems including networking, intercommunication, distributed antenna, IOT, and IP transport for all systems; power generation and distribution; emergency power, sustainable power generation including PV and batteries, infrastructure for the future electrification of systems, controls; audiovisual (AV) system design; fire alarm system design; and quality control, analysis, supervision, planning, and investigation.
Lighting design is carefully coordinated to complement the architect’s aesthetic feel for a space. The goal is to enhance the architectural elements while at the same time maintaining complete functionality for users. Energy efficiency is always a consideration and is compared with first costs to determine optimum systems for a facility. We strive for both green and practical solutions to give the best possible spaces.
Technology design includes wide area and local area network data systems. We have designed many different types and levels of systems that were installed to fulfill specific user needs including IEEE prioritization and hardware queuing to maximize system functionality. Wide Area Network design experience includes high capacity single mode and multi-mode fiber optic cable plant, coordinating phone company services, and switching and routers. Our local area network design experience includes all cable plant topology design including 10 Gbps over copper and fiber optic networks. The goal is to provide a robust infrastructure to allow flexibility for any system that comes down the line.
Audio Visual systems are designed to take advantage of this increasingly utilized educational tool. The systems integrate classroom projection, sound systems, media control, cabling, and integrated cable TV to give a complete and fully functional audiovisual system to support the education program. High Definition televisions, plasma screens, LCD screens, as well as projection are analyzed to provide for the best system for a particular space. We also design AV systems for large spaces including auditorium, commons and gymnasium spaces.
Modern communications systems take many forms and have many different types of systems that are merging together to provide complete communications systems. All are designed with the flexibility to operate as either one system with one installer for ease of use, or as many systems. We have installed complete district wide Voice over IP telephone and intercom systems as well as newer GPS connected wired and wireless clock systems.
With the advent of modern, more powerful systems, several options are presented and demonstrated to an owner to allow the actual users to select the type of systems desired.
Power distribution systems are designed to meet the increasingly demanding needs of computers and related equipment necessary in today’s high tech facilities. Our power systems are designed to handle not only current needs of a facility, but to take into consideration and anticipate future growth and flexibility. System experience includes providing complete emergency systems including engine generators, power conditioners, and uninterruptible power supplies.
Fire alarm systems are designed in close contact with the Fire Marshal and all requirements of the ADA codes. We design systems for ease of use with built-in maintainability and functionality features. Fire alarm systems are completely designed and specified to minimize any possible changes to the system.
We design Security, Closed Circuit TV, and Access control systems for the modern facility. Both wired and wireless systems, as well as IP and standard systems are considered with the owner to best meet their needs. New digital systems allow for much better quality, including excellent picture quality and recording options. Modern systems allow access control to be networked into other systems in the facility.
Our firm is committed to environmentally conscious sustainable design. All principals and project managers on this project are LEED Accredited Professionals. On all projects, sustainable options are presented to the owner, with details in regards to positives and negatives, to allow the owner to make informed decisions as to the facility they will own and operate.
We try to balance being good stewards of the environment with the owner's budget and long term operational and maintenance costs. Numerous past projects projects have allowed us to see sustainable elements during design, installation, and now in practice so we know what works and what doesn't.
